The lull between Christmas and New Year's

Well, here we are. The lull between Christmas and New Year's, when Americans are focused on losing a few holiday pounds and gearing up for festivities of the New Year celebrations.

In Iraq, however, things are not so sanguine. Today, southern Iraq erupted as at least a dozen coalition troops were injured or killed. What's going on? How can we ratchet down the violence? Interesting comments here by retired General Zinni. Is the Administration playing groupthink? Did everybody decide the boss was on board and they had to get on board, too?
