Sovereignty, Murder, and Floating Bombs

Busy day today around the world:

1. The American occupation of Iraq is over today. As the President wrote in a note to his National Security Advisor, "Let freedom reign." I do hope that we allow Iraq to actually be sovereign.

2. A U.S. soldier was killed today in Iraq; he'd been held hostage for nearly three months.
The spate of abductions and murders hasn't seemed to have let up.

3. The FBI has warned of floating improvised explosive devices in U.S. waters... Yup, that's right, here at home... Right up there with my worst professional nightmares.
