As you know, I'm all in favor of transparency in government. I'm not sure I'd go as far as Daniel Ellsberg suggests. Leaking classified documents is bit more than I'd ever suggest. I think our officials might classify items that never should be classified. Perhaps we classify things not because of national security issues, but because we don't want to look bad or have people see how dirty government really is.
Those of in positions of power and knowledge should, I believe, strive for transparency. Releasing classified documents, well, I'm not advocating that... of course, if it's necessary to keep "Americans from being lied to death," well, maybe it is a necessary action.
