Are we buckled up for the long haul?

Did you hear about the Bulgarian company's helicopter that was shot down in Iraq with American contract security personnel aboard. Sounded like nothing more than a lucky ground-to-air shot? Not quite.
In an Internet video, a man purported to be the sole survivor of a helicopter shot down in Iraq on Thursday was helped to his feet by gunmen who found him lying in the grass. Moments later they killed him in a spray of bullets, shouting "Allahu akbar," or "God is great."
First they shoot the chopper down; then they kill an unarmed, injured crewmember.

It's going to be a long haul. Are we truly ready for it?
