And his family doesn't even know

This morning at about 3AM, a late model BMW blew through the southern toll plaza of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel without paying. A mere minutes later, just south of the first island, the driver slammed on his brakes & the car was rear-ended by a tractor trailer. The BMW driver then got out of his car, went to the side of the bridge, and threw himself off into the waters below. A police officer arrived on scene within minutes and noticed the man floating face down in the water. The body sank slowly beneath the slight chop.

Nearly twelve hours later, Coast Guard assets continue to search. A Jayhawk from Elizabeth City is just finishing up what is likely to be the last search of the day.

And we don't even know who the man is. And we haven't been able to contact his family.

A sad end to what was, likely, a full life.
