This is a bummer... hope it's not one of my old tickets... ;-)
A winning lottery ticket worth $175,000 – sold six months ago at a Virginia Beach gas station – expired Thursday when nobody stepped forward to claim the prize.

The Mega Millions ticket was sold at South Military Citgo, 841 S. Military Highway, for the Jan. 14 drawing. The ticket matched the first five numbers, missing only the final Mega Ball number.

In Virginia, all winning lottery tickets expire 180 days after their drawings. The unclaimed prize money will go to the state Literary Fund.
Well, at least the money goes to good use.
