Another way to multi-task

Just what I need: email and instant-messaging all in one bundle:
Google may be the laggard in the instant messaging rat race, yet it's relying on a spot of ingenious splicing to gain a leg up in the hotly contested market. The search engine giant, which no doubt has its sights on the broader communications industry, hopes that dovetailing its popular e-mail service with its messaging program--allowing users to chat and send e-mails from the same Web browser window--will attract those bent on timesaving.

Gmail Chat, which will be visible to existing subscribers from within the Gmail browser window, will also let users see when contacts are online and save the chat history like an e-mail message. And for those that will find casting their eye over their previous chats too embarrassing for words, there's an "off the record" option so that no conversation with that person going forward is archived by either party until they choose to go back on the record.
As if my ADHD wasn't bad enough when I sit in front of the computer...
