Understatement of the day

In the ongoing saga of the plagerizing Harvard student, her agent reports (as quoted in the New York Times) "Obviously, I was shocked," to learn of the copying. "But knowing what a fine person Kaavya is, I believe any similarities were unintentional," she added. "Teenagers tend to adapt each others' language." No kidding; teenagers tend to adapt each others' language.

Like I said earlier, 17 is too young for a book contract.

Oh, and meanwhile, young Kaavya Viswanathan has admitted to lifting words.
