New York Times notes the President said today about the impending veto stand-off, "I think we can come to our senses and make sure that we get the money to the troops in a timely fashion."
Er, if we're in FY07 now, wouldn't if have been best for the President to submit a budget which anticipated these costs? And, please, there's no way the administration would have known. Do the budgets that are currently being built for out-years include funds? Or is this supplemental game the way things are played now, so that we don't see the magnitude of the growing federal debt?
