What place has cyberbullying in our online community?

Yesterday, I ran into a former colleague from my days working in a boarding school. On of the many things we talked about were social networking sites on the Internet, such as MySpace. On of my colleagues comments was telling about the sort of world we live in. He was disappointed in the unkind things people said behind the cloak of anonymity. Amen.

And then, while reading a post at Cool Cat Teacher, I saw this quick video, a video that is, I believe, appropriate not just for children, but for adults too.
Given all the accusations surrounding the recent written attacks on Kathy Sierra, I thought this was appropriate. The threats she has received are nothing more than adult versions of student cyberbullying; and both are not to be tolerated.

Ms. Sierra has been stalked and hounded and threatened. Threats and bullying have no place in civil discourse and civil society. Threats and bullying have no place, period.

What place has cyberbullying in our online community? None.
