From a letter to Judge Reggie B. Walton by Lewis A. Hoffman, the vice president's White House physician, as quoted by Michael Abramowitz in the Washington Post: This is a testimony to his devotion to our nation and the Vice President. Damn straight, devotion to the VP. He's headed to jail for more than 2 years...
Peter Baker, also at the Washington Post, tells us that In the West Wing, Pardon Is A Topic Too Sensitive to Mention. He notes,
The prospect of a pardon has become so sensitive inside the West Wing that top aides have been kept out of the loop, and even Bush friends have been told not to bring it up with the president.Just another example of the bubble President Bush lives within, shielded from good and contrary counsel.
I hope the next President surfs the net, reads blogs and newspapers and journals, eats burgers from McDonald's at random, buys groceries, and visits convenience stores every once in a while. Let's bring The Man out of the bubble so he can be in touch with reality and the rest of us.
In the mean time, Mr. Libby takes one for the team.
We still don't know what Mr. Libby is hiding, however. And speaking of hiding, what's up with Sandy Burger? What's he hiding?
