Time for a change in paradigm?

Here's a novel idea for organizations: ditch the server-focused computer network. From Roy Stephan,
Network security is not dead yet, but it must die to support emerging business practices. The current geo-political world is feeling pressure from two opposing forces: increasing demands for computer security and the drive to allow information sharing across borders. These two conflicting priorities appear across corporate and military contexts, yet the solution is the same for both markets: Eliminate client-server network security and empower individuals through direct communications.
