Is DHS & TSA paying special attention to investigative reporters?

If this tale is the least bit true, we have a problem.

Wayne Madsen, editor of the Wayne Madsen Report, recently flew from Washington National to Houston. At DCA he was subjected to an unusually thorough screening.

As quoted by Sam Smith at Undernews:
Yesterday, this editor and his colleague faced the Chertoffian menace at Washington's Reagan National Airport while heading to the gate to board a flight to Houston. It is now clear from a review of the events that unfolded that I was pre-selected for an intensive search and battery of questions even before arriving in line for the security screening.

. . . .

What followed, was worse than anything I had previously encountered while leaving Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport, itself a revolting display of ingratitude to citizens of the country that bankrolls Israel, or the Israeli-run screening process at Amsterdam's Schipol Airport.
The Wayne Madsen Report notes of itself,
In the tradition of Drew Pearson's and Jack Anderson's famous "Washington Merry-Go-Round" syndicated column and I.F. Stone, this online publication tackles the "politically incorrect" and "politically embarrassing" stories and holds government officials accountable for their actions. This web site extends a warm open invitation to whistleblowers and leakers. Business as usual for the crooks and liars in Washington, DC, is over.
I guess travel as usual for critics of the current administration, too.
